Leuven, November 20th, 2025

Agri Investment Fund (“AIF”) invests 2,7 million euro in Vivent Biosignals (“Vivent”), the Swiss-based pioneer of ‘wearables for plants’. The round totals 7,5 million euro and also includes participation from Pymwymic, Horticoop, and Swiss private investors. By enabling earlier detection of crop stress and optimizing input use, Vivent’s solution directly supports more precise and sustainable farming practices.

AIF- investment fuels Vivent’s growth and innovation

The investment will provide Vivent with the resources needed to accelerate the commercial rollout of its breakthrough plant biosignal monitoring technology. This will help Vivent deliver its technology at scale, bringing earlier crop stress detection and improved decision-making tools directly to the fields where they are needed most. The support comes at a pivotal moment for Vivent, as the company expands its platform to monitor more than 1,000 hectares across Europe.

“We see enormous potential for Vivent’s technology to improve both farmer profitability and environmental sustainability. By giving crops a voice, Vivent is enabling a new era of precise, plant-led decision-making in agriculture.” says Patrik Haesen, CEO of AIF. This new investment fits particularly well in AIF’s ambition to bring new technology faster to farmers. With first real-life cases yielding excellent results, we are excited to support a broader market launch.

One of Vivent’s satisfied clients, Tom Vlaemynck, Managing Director of TomatoMasters, testifies: Vivent assists us improve fruit quality and reduce our waste percentage. From the first look at their model results we could already see that we needed to focus on changing different parameters than we expected.”

Breakthrough technology for proactive crop health management

Vivent’s technology uses advanced artificial intelligence to interpret the electrical signals naturally emitted by plants. This allows farmers to detect stress from pests, diseases, drought, or nutrient imbalances days before any visible symptoms appear. With these early warnings, growers can take timely action, protect their crops, and optimize the use of inputs like water, fertilizers, and crop protection products, ultimately increasing yields and allowing more sustainable practices. Having demonstrated effectiveness in greenhouses, the technology is now being increasingly deployed across field crops such as berries, potatoes, apples, and grapes—providing continuous, real-time plant health insights across a wide range of production environments.

“Recent advances in machine learning now allow us to interpret plants’ internal electrical communication networks with a level of precision that was previously impossible,” says Dr. Nigel Wallbridge, Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Vivent. “By scaling in outdoor agriculture, we’ve built the world’s largest dataset of crop biosignals—unlocking insights that benefit individual growers, research partners, and policymakers. With our new investors, we are accelerating the global shift toward plant-driven, resource-efficient agriculture.”

Carrol Plummer, Co-founder and CEO, concludes: “With Agri Investment Fund, we gain a partner deeply embedded in European agriculture — exactly the kind of alignment we need to accelerate our growth and deliver value at scale.”
