Moa Technology develops novel herbicides and bioherbicides through an innovative screening platform based on microscopic plants. Using advanced imaging, artificial intelligence and machine learning, the company can rapidly identify new active compounds with novel modes of action.
In addition, Moa develops so-called Amplifiers: molecules that do not kill weeds themselves but enhance the performance of existing herbicides, enabling lower application rates without compromising efficacy.
New solutions for a growing resistance challenge
An increasing number of weeds are developing resistance to existing herbicides, while the range of available solutions continues to shrink due to stricter regulations. As a result, pressure on the remaining modes of action is increasing. Moa aims to address this challenge by developing a new generation of herbicides. Its platform has already identified more than 80 novel modes of action that control weeds in fundamentally different ways. Following successful validation in greenhouse trials, several of these molecules have also demonstrated strong performance in international field trials.
