Oral antibodies that improve gut health
Animab focuses on the development of edible antibodies to prevent infectious diseases in animals. The developed technology platform allows to quickly and accurately combat certain intestinal diseases without affecting the healthy intestinal flora. The first promising product is specifically designed for pig farming. Weaning diarrhoea, caused by the bacteria Escherichia coli (ETEC), is an economically important disease in pig farming worldwide.
Towards a reduced antibiotic use
The product of Animab offers pig farmers an alternative to antibiotics to control intestinal disease and thus contributes to more sustainable livestock farming with increased animal welfare. Over time, the company will rapidly expand its pipeline with new products that fight infections with other bacteria and viruses in production animals, further helping to reduce the overall use of antibiotics.
